My {Dearest} Perry

My sweet boy-

Mommy is sooooooo proud of you!  Six months of being a BIG brother!  And, in my book, six months is a big deal.

A really big deal.

And dude...You've totally rocked it!!

I know it hasn't always been easy.  I know it hasn't always been fun.  I know it hasn't always seemed quite fair.

But my sweet baby, you are learning and growing, and getting even better every single day.

I've seen your patience lengthened, your love stretched, and your laughter multiplied.

It has been my utter privilege and immense joy to watch you grow into this awesome BIG role God has in store for you.

Jack Cruz is soooooo lucky to be your little.

And I am so. very. proud.

Happy Six Months Forever {and Big Brother Day}

I truly can't believe it has already been six months since this little bundle of sweet-firecracker was placed in our arms.  On one hand, it seems like he's been with us a lifetime and on the other, it feels like we just hopped on our plane home from Korea yesterday.

The love and laughter he brings to our home is immeasurable.  His spunk is not to be rivaled.  He loves his big brother like crazy and loves to edge on a sibling spat.  He gives hugs and kisses freely, belly laughs like St Nicholas and talks the entire live-long-day.

There is never a stranger that is not shocked that he is only 2 1/2.  This boy is a big 'un.  Bigger than any three year old around... and some four year old's to boot.  Coupled with his size, he is as strong as an ox and as active as the energizer bunny.  It is no shocker that all the ladies at Holt lovingly nicknamed him PowerMan

He eats anything you put in front of him, but junk food is always guaranteed to be a success.  He is still addicted to cokes and candy is his love language.  His two favorite things ever though would have to be his blanket and pillow.

To celebrate Six Months Forever & Happy Big Brother Day, JC and I brought some yummy Subway to school to eat with Mr. P and then after pick-up we headed in town to grab a few shaved ice treats.  It was a fun way to commemorate this happy little milestone.  I can't wait to celebrate a lifetime more!

A Day Out with {Thomas}

Our family has this thing with radio contests...we are those that believe you won't ever win unless you call in.  In college, I won things pretty regularly thanks to my lucky pink flip phone that redialed over and over faster than all the other competition!

My IPhone doesn't have quite the same winning streak as Ole Pink Lady, but lucky for me my Mom's phone still has the magic touch!  She called earlier this week to let me know that she had won tickets to A Day Out with Thomas and wanted to give them to Justin and me to take the boys to.  We had gone before when Perry was Jack Cruz's age, so we were super excited to get to show our newest little Thomas-lovin' boy what it's all about.

As soon as Jack Cruz laid eyes on the Thomas engine, he lit up and started squealing and shaking his arms up and down like a little hummingbird!!  It was for real the cutest thing in quite some time!  Perry, on the other hand, was old enough this year to put two and two together to realize that Thomas didn't talk or use facial expressions...so we had to do a little fibbing and assure him that in Sodor its Sir Toppam Hat's magic that helps all the trains come to life.  And with that bit of explanation he was good to go.  He really loved it all too and was very excited to be there, but a little piece of me realized that he is growing up so very fast, and soon I won't be able to keep all the magic alive for him.  But I will hold on tight to and deeply cherish the magic while it's here!
